Welcome!
It's almost time again and we really appreciate your
help. This year promises to be more productive and together as a
team I believe we can make it happen for the kids.
Here are some of the upcoming events we have on our

FAQ-
Have you ever thought about being a
referee? Well now is the time because AYSO needs you!
It really isn't as hard as you think, and it is a great way
to support the children and get a little exercise.
This flyer was made to answer your questions and change some
of the common misconceptions you may have about being a
referee.
Almost anyone can
referee. You must be at least 12 years old but you do
not need to have any prior experience with soccer. We
well teach you everything you need to know. The course
starts you from the basic rules of soccer and how to be a
center referee and assistant referee (line referee).
After the course, we will give you a uniform and a whistle
(also handy for the kids at home!). Best of all, this
is all free of charge.
Where do I
begin? You are now a Regional Referee. As a new referee, you will work at a
level that is comfortable to you. All new referees
will start at the U-6 and U-8 age groups. You can
start as an assistant referee or jump right in the center of
the action. As your skills and confidence increase,
you can move up to higher age groups. If you find
yourself interested, you can continue your training with
higher-level courses.
So what about scheduling? This
is where there are a lot of misconceptions about how things
work. First of all, we do not schedule referees to
work their own child's game. You will be contacted by
a Referee Scheduler who will work with you to schedule
games. If you are not available that weekend
that is all right. We understand some of you have
lives outside of AYSO. We will schedule you for how
many games you can handle each week. Most refs work
two games on average. If you can only do one of even
if you want four, that's fine because it's up to you.
One exciting change this year is that plans are in the works
for interent based scheduling as soon as this season.
