When does the season run?

Practice cannot begin until August 15th. The first game begins the Saturday following Labor Day,
Sept 9th, and ends the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Nov 18th. (Ends Nov 11th for U6/8 age groups)

How often are games and practices?

Each team usually plays one game per week - typically on Saturday.
Practices are determined by the coaches. U6 teams usually only practice once a week;
however other age groups usually practice twice a week.

Back to Top

Where are practices and games held?

The coach will determine where his practices will be held - typically at one of the school grounds. Games are held at several facilities (may include Barney Schwartz park, Sherwood park, Pifer, Butler and Kermit King elementary schools). U14 and older age divisions may travel to other cities for "away" games.

What must I provide for my child to play?

Shin guards and shoes. Soccer cleat shoe, turf shoe or soft soled shoe. Shoes must not have a toe cleat. No sharp edges should be felt if the toe cleat is removed from a baseball shoe.

Back to Top

In what age group will my child play?

The child's age on July 31st determines the age group. For example: If he/she turns 8 on July 20th, then he/she is no longer under 8 and would play in the Under 10 Division.

What will AYSO provide?

Jersey, shorts, socks and ball.

Why am I asked to volunteer?

Referees, coaches, field helpers, board members and team parents are volunteers. Everyone's help is needed to make for a smooth season. Referees are always in short supply. Leave a message on the hotline 237-2970 if you are interested in officiating. You will be contacted with training dates.
